United Airlines has today released an original documentary, following the heartwarming journey by five Wrexham AFC fans from Patagonia in southern Argentina (home to the largest population of Welsh people living outside of Wales), as they travel to The Racecourse Ground, the home stadium of Wrexham A.F.C. The documentary, titled ReUnited, has been created by the producers of ‘FX’s Welcome to Wrexham’ TV programme.
ReUnited follows Matias, Rocio, David, and father and son Ricardo and Felipe, as they travel 7,604 miles with United Airlines to Wales and then on to Wrexham. The five fans reconnect with their Welsh roots and heritage and visit the very same shores their ancestors set sail from 160 years ago, bound for distant Patagonia in a quest to preserve their way of life, culture and language.
On arrival in Wrexham, just in time for St David’s Day (a celebration of the patron saint of Wales), they are welcomed into the heart of the community and their emotional journey reaches its climax as they attend their first-ever Wrexham A.F.C. match and meet club co-chairman and actor, Rob McElhenny.
The documentary follows hot on the heels of the new, limited-edition Wrexham A.F.C. inflight amenity kits and pyjamas, available for travellers flying in United’s premium cabins on long-haul international routes from 1st June 2024.
The full ReUnited documentary will also be available to view on united.com/reunited, as well as onboard United flights from August 2024 as part of its inflight entertainment programme.
