There is a new player in the aircraft soft furnishings sector, as Chameleon Products has concluded an agreement with Herbert Parkinson (HP) that will see Chameleon promote HP’s goods and services in the airline industry. HP is a wholly owned subsidiary of the John Lewis Partnership, and is one of the largest curtain manufacturers in the UK, with its work force of over 200 people making curtains and soft furnishings for the domestic and commercial markets.
The agreement will enable Chameleon to offer its customers high-quality soft furnishings and bespoke designs with material innovations that it says are not currently available within the aviation market.
The exclusive agreement, signed for an initial five years, will target the aviation sector and will combine the expertise of both companies in producing furnishing products that are aviation approved.
“We had many meetings with customers and designers who had expressed a need for something new, with emphasis on high quality and expertise. From our research into this area, we found a great partner in HP, which has been making high-quality products for over 75 years,” commented Trevor Whetter, managing director of Chameleon. “HP’s high-production facility will allow us to supply with very short lead times, utilising new materials, designs, and the expertise of both companies in their respective fields. We are currently addressing certification for aviation and will issue further releases in due course.”
