STG Aerospace, an aircraft cabin lighting specialist, has appointed Neil Thomas as its new engineering director. A graduate in electronic engineering, a chartered engineer and a chartered manager, Thomas joins the company having worked in airline cabin and avionics environments for more than 20 years, specializing in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams and providing the technical interface to customers, including STC documentation and support.
As sales engineering manager at Page Aerospace, Thomas gained specific experience of cabin ceiling and sidewall fluorescent systems as well as LED-based accent lighting and exit signs. During the 10 years he spent with Pascall Electronics, he also dealt with power supplies for passenger aircraft IFE and fileservers, subsequently expanding that business to include RF and Microwave programs enabling in-flight mobile phone and wi-fi use. Thomas has also worked in the passenger interface and seating environment.
