Tapis’ mill partner, Ultrafabrics, has launched nine new colourways for its Pearlized collection, a fabric designed to feel indistinguishable from soft-touch leather, blending a classic, natural grain with subtle luminescence and durability. The versatile fabric is suitable for everything from aircraft seating to automotive interiors, to furniture and wall coverings in healthcare or residential environments.
The new colourways are named Opal Dream, Pure Silver, Pink Quartz, Lavender Agate, Metallic Blue, Beryl Green, Golden Ore, Rose Pearl, and Ruby Crush. These colours have been added to the existing palette of ‘shimmering neutrals’ in the Pearlized collection.
“With these nine new colourways, the Pearlized Collection offers fresh opportunities to create standout spaces, meeting the demands of modern design while maintaining the exceptional performance and durability expected in high-use environments,” said Barry Silverman, VP of marketing and branding at Ultrafabrics.
The collection is crafted using Ultrafabrics’ proprietary Takumi technology. The company says the Pearlized collection is bleach-cleanable (1:5 bleach/water solution) and does not contain any Red List chemicals, PFAS, PVC, plasticisers, or intentionally added formaldehyde. Ultrafabrics added that the collection boasts 400,000 double rubs (Wyzenbeek), 180,000 rubs (Martindale), and reinforced rayon backing made of 100% FSC/PEFC Certified Rayon, while featuring hydrolysis resistance for 16 weeks.
