Airbus has named its best-performing suppliers at the SQIP supplier day, among which was Mankiewicz, a supplier of coatings for cabin interiors, exteriors and structural parts, which has worked with Airbus since the 1970s.
At the SQIP day each year – SQIP standing for ‘Supply Chain & Quality Improvement Programme’ – trophies are given in recognition of suppliers that have distinguished themselves through exceptional performance in the areas of product quality and delivery reliability. Mankiewicz was given an award for its performance as a materials and parts supplier, and another for ‘Operational Excellence’.
Operational Excellence refers to the ability of a company to continuously optimise its processes and systems across the entire value chain, by following a clear strategy, implementing best-practice processes, and achieving the highest process performance in a well‐structured organisation.
René Lang, executive managing director for aviation at Mankiewicz, said of the awards: “We are so delighted for our team that we have been awarded the highest honour as an ‘accredited supplier’ again, plus the extra award for our operational excellence. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to customer service and quality and we are excited to continue our partnership with Airbus.”
