Aviation thermoplastics giant, Sekisui Kydex, has revealed the results of a collaboration with KRD Luftfahrttechnik, a manufacturer of transparent plastics: ‘Kydex FST CLR, featuring Kasiglas’, a scratch-resistant, perfectly clear advanced polymer technology that can be used for highly specialised accents or decorative panels in the cabin.
The project partners say it is the only fully compliant transparent thermoplastic material available on the market that can withstand the rigorous environment of the aviation industry.
Kasiglas is an ultra-robust material that has delivered safety in many industries for over 30 years while offering a variety of additional high-tech functions such as smart heating systems, anti-fogging, anti-glare wedges, switchable screens, and more.
This collaboration showcases how Kydex Thermoplastics’ aviation portfolio is being used in new ways. “We are excited to share this collaboration, which has helped further develop our translucent product offering,” said Ben Smalley, director of business development for Sekisui Kydex.
If you’re attending Aircraft Interiors Expo this week, you can view the product for yourself, at both the Sekisui Kydex stand (5D40) or KRD Luftfahrttechnik stand (6C90).
