EL AL, the flag carrier of Israel, has selected Bruce Aerospace to supply the LED cabin lighting system for its Boeing 737-800 fleet retrofit and upgrade project. Following an evaluation process, the company’s ‘Bi-Color’ system was selected, due to its existing STC certification on the B737-800 platform and its ‘plug & play’ installation capability, with the LED fixtures able to be installed using the existing wiring and controls.
According to Bruce Aerospace, benefits for the airline compared with the previous fluorescent and incandescent lighting fixtures include an enhanced passenger experience, long LED life for reduced maintenance (and savings on disposal of lamps), as well as reduced weight and electrical power consumption.
EL AL has also selected other Bruce Aerospace PMA LED ancillary lighting products, including drop-in replacements for reading lights, galley and entry lights, PSU lights, exit signs and exit identifiers, and lavatory lighting.
