DTI, Advanced Inflight Alliance’s software division and an in-flight games provider, has launched several new game titles that are suitable for both seat-back and wireless IFE systems.
Four new “casual gaming” puzzle and action/arcade titles are being added to DTI’s catalogue – Leaf, Weather Rush, Polterghost and Tennis Showdown – all of which are designed for a modern look and similar gameplay to casual mobile games.
For airlines looking to give passengers a blast from the past, DTI has extended its long-term relationship with Atari to continue to offer 10 classic Atari games to airlines. Popular old-school titles such as Asteroids, Centipede and Pong will provide hours of retro-gaming in-flight fun.
DTI has also developed a new Wireless Games Portal, allowing airlines exploring new wireless IFE technologies to offer a variety of gaming content to passengers using personal devices on board. Designed to detect passengers’ devices and compatible with all major operating systems, the portal is a web-based distribution channel that delivers a selection of wireless games – such as puzzle and card games – to passengers’ smartphones, tablets or laptops, whatever the device technology and browser. Available as a self-contained add-on to existing wireless IFE portals or seamlessly integrated into a wireless system, the portal works in connected and non-connected environments.
“Games continue to be a popular form of entertainment for passengers and the introduction of wireless IFE solutions presents an opportunity for airlines to engage further with their customers,” said Walé Adepoju, COO of Advanced Inflight Alliance, parent company of DTI.
