July 12, 2016 – Thales has announced an economic growth initiative in Florida, USA, which includes the targeted creation of 500 net-new jobs (including many R&D opportunities) and a capital investment of greater than US$20 million in the state over the next five years. This announcement forms part of the company’s plans to grow the Thales’ InFlyt Experience business in central Florida, with the development of a 100-120,000 sq. ft. facility in Brevard County and future expansion mandates for facilities in Orlando. Thales’ InFlyt Experience specializes in IFE, connectivity, revenue and content services.
In other Thales news from Florida, earlier this year, Thales’ Plantation-based cybersecurity business successfully acquired silicon-valley based Vormetric Solutions to expand its data protection and encryption offering, and in 2014, Thales acquired a Florida-based in-flight connectivity company, marking the first major expansion of its InFlyt Experience business in the state.
