Spafax has entered a new partnership with Blokur, a subsidiary of Music Reports.
This collaboration optimizes and automates the music publishing clearance process for inflight, enabling Spafax to elevate the onboard music experience for airline passengers.
Blokur’s technology streamlines music publishing rights clearances and royalty reporting. Along with Tuned Global, which manages Spafax’s record label clearances, Blokur’s technology will help Spafax ensure that the music content offered on board is both comprehensive and fully compliant.
As a result of Blokur’s management of music rights administration, Spafax’s programming team can focus on creating playlists and curating fresh audio content.
The new system is set to launch end of 2024, in time for Spafax’s inflight entertainment rollout during the first quarter of 2025.
“Partnering with Blokur is an exciting step forward for us. By automating the music rights clearance process for publishing, we can craft and deliver memorable listening experiences for passengers, including creating unique playlists that enhance the passenger journey and mirror passenger behavior on the ground,” says Maura Chacko, SVP of content experience at Spafax.
“We’re excited to work with Spafax and bring our expertise and industry leading technology in music rights management to inflight entertainment. Together, we’re simplifying the process so great music can be made available to airline passengers,” adds Gabriella Heybourne, senior business development manager at Blokur.
