Rosen Aviation is preparing to launch two new seatback IFE displays designed for the commercial airline market. The monitors, which will be available in 13in and 16in versions (both 4K HDR), will feature what the company says is an “ultra-lightweight” carbon composite chassis weighing 1 lb (0.45kg). Rosen also says the units, powered by Qualcomm processors, will offer smart capabilities that “far exceed” those of the home television experience.
“The momentous success we have enjoyed in business and VIP aviation has ultimately led us to the moment we have always been working towards – our introduction into commercial aviation as a disruptive IFE partner,” said Lee Clark, senior VP strategy at Rosen Aviation.
The company will showcase the new line of displays at Aviation Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany, on 28-30 May.
“Rosen has worked in collaboration with other suppliers in the past to provide revolutionary products, such as digital windows, to commercial airlines like Emirates, but this new product line represents an entire step change in our brand presence. The 13in and 16in 4K displays we’ll be showing at AIX will quite literally transcend anything currently available. Operators are demanding agile hardware partners to take back control of their passenger experience, and Rosen is here to provide exactly that,” added Clark.
