November 1, 2016 – Global data plans for Inmarsat’s Jet ConneX inflight broadband service are now available on all Dassault Aviation aircraft. The milestone was achieved after existing radomes for the 7X/8X and aftermarket F900 family were tested and authorized to operate with the JetWave Ka-band hardware, manufactured by Honeywell for the Jet ConneX service.
Jet ConneX enables video streaming, live television streaming, file downloads and more, and is designed to offer seamless global coverage. Dedicated Ka-band radomes for Jet ConneX are expected to be available for Dassault Aviation aircraft in 2017.
“Dassault customers are the driving force behind this effort,” said Kurt Weidemeyer, vice president of business and general aviation at Inmarsat. “They wanted Jet ConneX faster than radome manufacturers can produce a radome, so we removed the barrier. Honeywell recently received FAA certification for Jet ConneX on the Falcon 7X aircraft using its exclusive JetWave hardware, and we expect certification for other models to be available soon.”
