From 1st February, business-class passengers onboard Emirates aircraft might enjoy a little extra comfort. The UAE-based airline is bringing in a collection of clothing designed for lounging and sleeping, including a wide-necked blouse, drawstring trousers, slippers and eye mask.
A soft drawstring bag containing the items is offered to business-class passengers upon boarding so they can change into something comfortable whenever they like during the flight.
The airline says that while the clothing options have been chosen with sleep comfort in mind, they are also suitable for wearing in the A380 onboard lounge area, or even as a casual outfit for arrival at the destination. The airline trialled the outfits on its New York and Boston routes, and reports that customers provided ‘very positive feedback’ about the onboard sleepwear, which they also intended to reuse at home.
The clothing collection, designed in-house by a team from Emirates Airline, is made of an ultra-soft material, finished in a light blue colour, and is available in two sizes. The full range is offered to business-class passengers on flights of nine hours or longer, while passengers on flights of over 150 minutes are provided with slippers and eye coverings.
