The spring season is almost upon us, and New York-based JetBlue is marking the occasion with a few fresh treats in its onboard experience, from amenities to dining, entertainment and more.
In Mint business class there will be two new options of amenity kit: a reusable foldable backpack (launching on transatlantic flights on 13th March), and a collectible pouch (launching on domestic US flights from 1st April), both designed by Caraa, the New York City-based sport bag and accessory company.
The charcoal-coloured Caraa sport mesh pouch can be unfolded to become a mint-coloured, functional backpack ideal for use post-flight as a travel day pack, hotel gym bag or beach tote. The snappable pouch offered on domestic routes can hold all the small travel essentials, and with four colourways (sage, clay, sand & gunmetal), customers can collect them all to mix and match with their own style, mood and travel accessories.
The amenity kits will contain wellness products from NY-based brands, curated in partnership with amenity kit specialist, Buzz.
The kits include products from Dr. Dennis Gross, a skincare company with a focus on cruelty-free products. The range will include ultra-rich Hyaluronic Marine products, including the Hyaluronic Marine Oil-Free Moisture Cushion, Hydrate + Smooth Hand Treatment, and Moisture-Lock Lip Balm.
And NY brand, Plus Ultra, will also help passengers feel ‘Mint-y’ fresh. The eco-conscious company is supplying Moso bamboo toothbrushes for the kits, as well as mint gel toothpaste and mouthwash.
Dining with NY flavours
JetBlue is also bringing in a new menu in the Mint cabins, developed by from NYC-based restaurant Legacy Records, which is one of three rotating restaurant partners from Delicious Hospitality Group (DHG). Spring seasonal dishes will include breakfast options of coconut yogurt with maple-pecan; ginger granola; or a warm rosemary honey biscuit by NY bakery, The Hungry Gnome.
For lunch or dinner, customers can enjoy aromatic flavours such as lamb shoulder with roasted carrots, harissa and citrus breadcrumbs, or orzo served with roasted tomatoes, marinated feta and arugula.
DIG into economy class dining
In JetBlue’s economy (‘Core’) cabins, NYC health food chain, DIG, is bringing new farm to tray-table dishes to JetBlue’s transatlantic experience. Customers can order from a selection of dishes, directly from their seatback screen.
For lunch and dinner flights, customers can order a spice-infused choice of marinated jerk chicken with coconut rice and pickled habanada peppers, and sides such as shredded beet and carrot salad with candied sunflower seeds, or a kale, parsley and quinoa salad with demi-sec tomatoes.
For early morning flights, customers can order dishes such as the herb and cheese frittata with kale, potato and rosemary olive oil, or vegan French toast with dried cherry jam.
