A new exhibition for marine design and interiors is launching this year. Taking place from 14 to 16 October 2014 at HanseMesse Rostock, Germany, the IMITFair has been established because its organizers believe the maritime design and interiors sector has not been reflected adequately in the trade fair arena.
IMITFair is intended to present a focal point for all suppliers, retrofitters, and players interested in boat and ship interior and design – including products, materials and services.
There is currently an unprecedented level of interest in sailing and motor yachts. In 2012 the number of ships delivered in this luxury segment increased by 70% over 2010, with an overall market amounting to Euro 8.3 billion. International order books, in which German shipyards play a leading role, remain approximately at 2011’s level.
Politics has already set the right course for a successful start to IMITFair 2014, with patrons to include Erwin Sellering, Prime Minister of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Ronald Methling, Mayor of the Hanseatic City of Rostock.
Adjacent to the IMITFair, the IMITFairCon convention will give decision makers the opportunity to catch up on the latest trends and developments in the industry, and also on legislative changes. Major international and national players of the industry will speak atr the event, such as Jacques Pierrejean (an international pioneer in the design and interior design of commercial aircraft and yachts) and Felix Dölker (CEO of Dölker + Voges, a Hamburg-based company focussed on netspace engineering for the yacht industry).
