AerQ, the joint venture between LG Electronics and Lufthansa Technik that is working towards the digital transformation of aircraft cabins, has appointed a new co-managing director. Son Yob (Louis) Pak from LG Electronics (LG) succeeds Sang Soo Lee in the role, as he will take on another role within LG. Pak will be co-managing director with Arnd Kikker from Lufthansa Technik.
Pak has worked at LG for 12 years and moves from the role of vertical global sales department lead. “The joint venture was created by the insight and innovative thinking about the digital cabin experience of its founders. I look forward to shaping the future with the achievements so far and especially the people working here who dedicate themselves to an optimised passenger experience onboard an airline’s fleet,” said Pak.
Since its launch in 2016, AerQ has focused on the digital ecosystem in and around the aircraft, driven by software, hardware and data, and has already launched Aerena, a platform for engagement, empowerment and intelligence (a contender in the 2022 Crystal Cabin Awards). The change in the management has been implemented through a planned transition to push forward AerQ’s goals in 2022, such as incorporating digital behaviour and trends into the aircraft and providing a digital inflight entertainment experience.
