Aviation summit organiser, RedCabin, will co-host a webinar with APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) on the subject of successful certification for aircraft innovation. Participants will navigate the evolving landscape of cabin innovation and address the complex certification processes required for new interior designs and technologies. The panel will work to share how manufacturers can streamline their certification processes and accelerate the introduction of innovative aircraft interior solutions.
The webinar, taking place on 14th May 2024 at 11:00 EDT / 17:00 CET, will be moderated by Dr Joe Leader, group CEO of APEX, who brings expertise in airline partnerships and industry certification challenges. He will steer the discussion towards strategic insights and actionable outcomes.
Panellists will include Mike Thompson, manager of the FAA’s Cabin Safety Division, who will offer regulatory insights and certification requirements, and Xia Cai, senior vice president of product development & design at Qatar Airways, who brings a wealth of knowledge in product development at leading airlines.
From the airframers, Andrew Keleher, VP of development, engineering, & certification at Boeing, will discuss the manufacturing challenges and innovations involved in meeting integration and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Meanwhile Lars Lehmann, head of engineering for cabin & cargo architecture and technology at Airbus, will bring more than 25 years of industry experience to the panel.
From the supplier side, Dr Dietmar Voelkle, VP of research at Diehl Aviation, and Jose Pevida, SVP of engineering & product development at ZIM Group, will shed light on the practical design and manufacturing aspects of aircraft interiors, highlighting the supply chain’s role in driving market innovations.
