The Crystal Cabin Award Association has elected Lukas Kaestner as its new president, succeeding Ulf Weber, the managing director of Hamburg Aviation.
Kaestner is already a familiar face for the Crystal Cabin Award judging panel, as he also serves as head of marketing, PR & events at the Hamburg Aviation cluster network (which launched the awards in 2007), and is a co-founder of the Sustainable Aero Lab. He has been involved in the project management of the Awards since 2014, overseeing the marketing and communications strategy for the brand.
“Having the opportunity to work for such an internationally renowned initiative as the Crystal Cabin Awards is a great honour. The last two years have been proof for us that despite the woes of the pandemic, interest in passenger experience and air travel innovation has remained high on a global scale. We are very much looking forward to growing the Crystal Cabin Awards further, together with our industry partners, team and judging panel members. Aviation is now at one of the most exciting points in its history, and we strive to remain at a forefront of the discussion,” stated Kaestner.
“Lukas Kaestner has been a strategic pillar of the Crystal Cabin Awards in the past years, and I am convinced he is a perfect fit in developing the Awards into the future. By splitting the roles of CCA president and managing director of Hamburg Aviation, we have made sure that both networks receive a clearer and more transparent profile,” added Ulf Weber. “Apart from this, the Crystal Cabin Awards will remain as tightly connected to Hamburg Aviation and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as before, with both me and the City remaining in the Board of the Award Association.”
