FACC AG has been named Austria’s most innovative aerospace company by the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF), with particular praise given to its work in sustainable aviation, and space and urban air mobility.
FACC AG develops, designs and manufactures lightweight systems for the aerospace industry, including major components of the Airspace by Airbus cabins. The company has been working to make its products increasingly sustainable, through developments in and application of the latest technologies, production processes and materials.
The IMWF awards criteria are based on empirical analysis of Austria’s approximately 1,800 largest companies, bringing together public reputation data concerning research and innovation, research projects, and prizes and awards already received.
Axel Maireder, managing director of IMWF in Austria explained the reasons for awarding the prize to FACC AG: “By developing new materials, FACC is helping to make aviation more efficient and greener. In addition, the company is researching exciting future technologies such as autonomous air cabs and materials for space travel.”
