F/List, a supplier of luxury cabin materials known for its work in the business jet sector, is entering the commercial interiors sector. The Austria-based company is making a splash into the market with a showcase or its portfolio of cabin materials for commercial aircraft during Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2025, taking place in Hamburg this week. The company says there will also be a new portfolio of innovations to come later this year.
A highlight at F/List’s exhibition stand is the F/Lab Stone Inlay, an aviation-grade product with the appearance of natural stone, intended for business and first-class cabins. Engineered to endure the challenges of high-traffic commercial cabins – and fully certified – each individually handcrafted and customised inlay is highly resistant to scratches, fluid, and chemical exposure. The veneer is just 2.5mm (0.098 inches) thick for light weight.
The F/Lab Stone Inlay, is fully customisable and can be applied to curved or flat surfaces, and integrated into multiple cabin monuments, including table inlays, seat shells, countertops, bulkheads, integrated charging systems, and more.
The veneer can also be backlit to create ambient lighting, or used to create special features in first-class suites. The offering extends to different stone types, colours and textures, as well as laser engraving techniques to further expand design possibilities.
Real woods for the cabin
F/List has also developed a new technology to ensure its F/Lab Wood Veneers comply with all aerospace heat release rate tests. The technology enables the company to source a variety of wood types, including locally sourced or region-specific varieties, such as bamboo in Asia or silver birch in Europe. F/List says the heat-compliant technology does not add weight, with the wood veneer being comparable to the weight of a decorative foil.
“An increasing number of airlines are eyeing natural and bio-based materials to improve the passenger experience, stand out from competitors, and to attract passengers who could opt to fly privately. With our new heat-release-compliant wood veneer, airlines can now use natural wood instead of plastic, synthetic, or printed designs for more comfort and a calming environment. This is especially important for first class and the emerging super business class suites, where airlines emulate the luxury private jet experience,” explained Anita Gradwohl, group sales director at F/List.

F/List will also be showing its eco-conscious F/Lab Aenigma, F/Lab Whisper Leather, and F/Lab Natural Oil varnish products at AIX 2025 (booth 6B62).
