One of Airbus’s oldest allies is wishing the airframer a happy 50th anniversary. Diehl Aviation, a Tier One supplier for aircraft cabin interiors and systems, has worked with Airbus since the programme launch of the A300B at the Le Bourget airshow in 1969. For that launch, Diehl supplied products and systems which still form part of the company’s core competencies, including the main cabin lining, ducting, stowages, parts for the cabin lighting, avionics, sensors and indicators and fans.
“The success of the Airbus programmes since the late 1960s marks a revival for the European aircraft industry in the second half of the 20th century. Diehl Aviation and its predecessor organisations have been part of that since the very first beginnings,” said Diehl in a statement.
