Diehl Aviation is preparing a three-pronged strategy for this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), with a focus on cabin innovations, sustainability impact, and enhanced passenger experiences.
Under the tagline of ‘Imagine – Inspire. Collaborate. Create’, Diehl Aviation will take visitors to its stand at Hamburg Messe on an interactive journey through the evolution of aircraft cabin interiors. The three dedicated sections will illustrate the processes involved in taking new ideas and technologies from being visionary concepts to becoming fully developed products.
The Inspire section will showcase concepts and future visions that drive innovation, while Collaborate will demonstrate the ongoing development and refinement of ideas, and Create will present finalised, market-ready solutions. The ideas will be presented via design tools and prototypes.
A dynamic and immersive cabin experience
One highlight will be Diehl Aviation’s Cabin Demonstrator, which will feature enhanced interactive elements, including an illuminated entrance area ceiling with a dynamic colour display and an expansive rear wall screen, allowing scenarios to be displayed in real time. The team will show how advanced cabin illumination technologies, accent lighting, and high-quality materials can create a more immersive passenger experience. Visitors can explore different lighting scenarios and interactive content that showcase retrofit integration, maintenance solutions, and full cabin integration capabilities.
Space³: The future of accessible and smart lavatories
Visitors can also check out the Space³ concept for long-range aircraft lavatories. Designed for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM) or special needs, the exhibit will include a full-scale mock-up of a modular lavatory system that enhances accessibility. Two lavatories can be merged to accommodate wheelchair users, and an updated touchless configuration ensures an inclusive experience for visually impaired passengers. The concept integrates voice and illumination guidance and seamless touchless functions for a hygienic and barrier-free journey. Space³ is a finalist in this year’s Crystal Cabin Awards.

ECO Space: Environmental solutions
Solutions to enhance sustainability will take centre stage in the ECO Space area, where Diehl Aviation will present its portfolio of products designed to minimise environmental impact. Visitors can handle a range of new materials, including lightweight, recyclable, and bio-based components. Interactive displays will demonstrate the company’s latest advancements in reducing CO₂ emissions, optimising waste management, and increasing material circularity.
Future Cabin Concept: A glimpse into tomorrow’s aviation
Building on the success of, and feedback from, last year’s Future Cabin Concept, it returns this year to present an enhanced vision of a next-generation aircraft cabin. Diehl Aviation will display a full-scale futuristic cabin environment featuring AI-driven interactive use cases for passengers, a physical window unit with an integrated transparent display, and a cabin design based on bionic concepts inspired by nature, emphasising lightweight materials, sustainability, and industrial design innovations. The digital decorative surfaces with hidden LED elements can create a new level of aesthetic and functional integration.
