Aviationscouts, a reseller and service provider for used components and spare parts for aircraft interiors, such as seats, stowage bins and power supplies, has been acquired by Aerotec Europe Holding GmbH, a subsidiary of Borromin Capital Fonds IV.
Thomas Bulirsch, founder and CEO of aviationscouts, based in Lichtenfels, Germany, will continue to lead the company as CEO. “This acquisition is a significant step for Aviationscouts. Integration into the Aerotec / AES group allows us to expand our service portfolio and strengthen our market position. I look forward to continuing as CEO and actively shaping the growth strategy of Aviationscouts,” he stated.
Aerotec Europe Holding GmbH, which includes its subsidiary Airplane Equipment & Services (AES GmbH), was acquired by Borromin Capital Fonds IV in September 2022. Borromin is aiming to expand the company through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, such as its purchase of Aviationscouts.
Martin Franke, a partner at Borromin, said of the deal, “The acquisition of Aviationscouts is an ideal addition to our portfolio and particularly strengthens our activities in aircraft cabin refurbishment. Through this acquisition, we are solidifying our market position as a significant player in the circular economy for used aircraft components and spare parts.”
As part of this transaction, Aviationscouts will also acquire 100% of the shares in B2L GmbH & Co. KG. B2L specialises in upcycling of aircraft parts and accessories into bags, accessories, and other lifestyle products. Based on a sustainability concept, the company says it has grown from a startup to a leading provider in the DACH region in recent years. Under the leadership of Aerotec Europe Holding GmbH, both companies will aim to achieve further development of their business model and an expansion of their global presence.
