AERQ, the joint venture between LG Electronics and Lufthansa Technik, has received EASA Form 1 certification for the first digital products in its Aerena range. Being in the position to provide EASA Form 1-certified products means they are airworthy – a major milestone for AERQ’s readiness to supply the aviation, airline and MRO sectors.
EASA Form 1 is the Authorised Release Certificate that states that a product, part or component has been manufactured in accordance with approved design data, making it officially airworthy and offerable on the market. The certificate is issued by the holder of a Production Organization Approval (POA), which is managed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 748/2012.
AERQ product certifications can be signed with an advanced electronic signature, which enables a clear proof of the validity and immutability of their signature.
“We are ready to deliver,” said Son Yob (Louis) Pak, co-managing director at AERQ. “Generating this certificate is a recognition of the high standards and qualification of our company and staff.”
Arnd Kikker, co-managing director added, “Obtaining airworthiness and being able to use the advanced electronic signature strengthens our serious position in the aerospace market as innovation drivers, and opens doors for AERQ to take off”.
