How the split-up of Lufthansa Systems will work

Details have emerged of how the impending split-up of Lufthansa Systems AG will work in practice. The current Airline Solutions division is projected to begin operating as an independent company, named Lufthansa Systems GmbH & Co. KG, from the second quarter of 2015. The Industry Solutions division will then operate under the name of Lufthansa Industry Solutions GmbH & Co. KG.

“We know how important stable IT operations and high-quality support are to our customers – both in the current transitional phase and in the future,” said Stefan Hansen, CEO of Lufthansa Systems AG. “During the transition to new structures, we will ensure that our customers continue to benefit from our usual high levels of expertise and experience.”

The existing contracts of the two current business divisions will be carried over to the new companies. In day-to-day operations, Hansen assures customers that they will hardly notice any difference because their points of contact will remain the same almost without exception.

The current Airline Solutions division will carry on the Lufthansa Systems brand and will focus on developing IT solutions to further optimize airline business processes. The Industry Solutions division will expand its work in IT consulting and system integration.
