Two major aircraft interiors companies are joining forces so they can design and supply entire cabin interiors for every market in the world. UK-based AIM Aviation, a designer of custom interiors for major airlines including Emirates, Qatar and Virgin Atlantic, has acquired Altitude Aerospace Interiors from Air New Zealand. Altitude Aerospace Interiors, based in New Zealand, also designs custom cabin interiors to leading airlines such as Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand, and is ideally situated for the Far East and Australasian markets, thereby complementing AIM’s strong presence in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
The services of AIM and Altitude cover the entire cabin interior, from cockpit to rear pressure bulkhead, including premium monuments and bar units, lounges, seat modules, galleys and stowages.
According to AIM Aviation, the acquisition of Altitude will strengthen its position in the rapidly growing aircraft interiors market, that growth being driven by unprecedented numbers of aircraft orders, and the worldwide increase in air traffic anticipated in the next few years.
Mark Edwards, CEO of AIM Aviation, stated: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to combine the strengths of the AlM and Altitude businesses. This deal will further enhance the offering we provide to our airline and leasing customers and OEM partners.”
AIM Aviation is majority owned by TowerBrook Capital Partners, L.P., a leading international investment management firm. The transaction is expected to complete at the end of September 2014.
