Qatar Airways has entered into a catering partnership with Gategroup, structured through a Business Management Agreement that covers collaboration on passenger dining experiences (both inflight and in the lounges at Hamad International Airport), sourcing and procurement, healthy eating, as well as sustainability. Gategroup will also offer the airline its expertise in menu design, culinary concepts and operational excellence, all with a view to increasing the quality of the airline’s catering offer.
Gategroup will send a culinary team to Doha, tasked with contributing to the development of a dedicated culinary studio for Qatar Airways, with a focus on innovation, co-creation and efficient menu design. The dishes created for Qatar Airways will have a focus on quality ingredients, health and nutrition, and incorporating local produce.
The team will also develop quality measures based around around menu development, production efficiency, and systematic monitoring of food quality, taste and appearance. They will also explore additional revenue streams and ways to optimise operational and commercial efficiencies.
