One.five, a sustainable packaging and AI company, has launched a range of packaging solutions to help the airline, travel, and hospitality industries meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations. The packaging is designed to enable companies to move from fossil-based and non-recyclable packaging, to high-performing circular alternatives without compromising on quality.
According to One.five, its AI-generated system can deliver market-ready sustainable materials whilst also significantly reducing product development times, from 24 months to around 100 days.
For example, One.five’s Glassleaf range of transparent and heat-sealable papers is designed to replace pollutive plastic films, which are simply too lightweight to be recycled on a large scale using existing infrastructure. One.five replaces these films with highly transparent papers that also show a measurable benefit in terms of the material’s environmental footprint.
Claire Hae-Min Gusko, co-founder of One.five said: “The travel industry has long struggled with the painfully slow pace of new product development, which can sometimes take upwards of 18-24 months from concept to market. This extended timeline has severely hampered the sector’s ability to respond to rapidly changing regulations and consumer demands for sustainable solutions. With our new products, we’re not just offering alternatives to plastic – we are offering the first commercially deployed AI-generated solution.”
One.five and Krott have already begun offering travel snacks for prominent airlines, packaged in their sustainable materials, which will be offered inflight later this year.
In addition, One.five is continuing to enhance its AI co-pilot with additional predictive tools to further expedite packaging development. These tools will help anticipate material performance, especially in the critical forming and filling lines, allowing for more precise and efficient design adjustments.
One.five is exhibiting at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg from April 8-10, 2025 at booth 4D59.
