Gate Gourmet has reached an agreement to acquire the operating assets and customer contracts of the SCK Sky Catering Kitchen Group of companies for an undisclosed purchase price. SCK Sky Catering Kitchen was founded almost 30 years ago in Stuttgart, Germany and grew to provide domestic and international catering services to airlines from locations in Berlin Tegel, Berlin Schönefeld and Nuremberg, in addition to Stuttgart.
Under the terms of the deal SCK Services GmbH will be integrated into Gate Gourmet Germany as a separate legal entity. The existing workforce will remain with SCK Services GmbH and continue to serve customers at all four German airports.
Herman Anbeek, gategroup’s president for the Americas, Europe and Middle East regions stated, “This is a strategically important acquisition that will strengthen gategroup’s operations in Germany. SCK’s network largely complements gategroup’s existing locations and will enable us to continue to operate an efficient, extended network for our key customers, especially Germany-based charters and network airlines. We welcome the SCK staff joining our group.”
The purchase is subject to anti-trust clearance.
