Four Dutch companies have signed a letter of intent to increase their cooperation in the fields of design manufacturing and the refurbishment of business jet interiors. The companies – JetSupport, Struik & Hamerslag Aviation, Wetzels Brown Partners and Zijlstra International Decoration – hope to capitalise on synergies between the superyacht and business aviation industries. “This moment formalises the partnership between the four companies to further enhance the found synergies and look at future opportunities,” said Marko Struik, director of Struik & Hamerslag Aviation.
Struik & Hamerslag Aviation, Wetzels Brown Partners and Zijlstra Interior Decoration are players in the global superyacht interior and refurbishment industry, while JetSupport provides the connection to the business aviation industry. “Partnerships such as these found a basis for sharing know-how and experiences across industries, crucial to further strengthen each other’s market position,” said Ton van Deursen, director of JetSupport.
The first visible result of this collaboration is the development of a new interior refurbishment process. The technology, to be launched early in 2014, is designed to provide an advanced method of applying veneer in aircraft interiors that minimises downtime and costs without sacrificing the high quality expected of interior materials. The companies say the craftsmanship of Struik & Hamerslag Aviation was found to be a perfect match for the advanced technology requirements of the business aviation industry. The new technology is currently undergoing certification and patent processes to secure compliance with international aviation regulations.
