Virgin Atlantic has a new director of service delivery in the shape of Andrew Walker, appointed due to his customer services experience and knowledge, most recently in his role as the UK managing director of sandwich chain Pret A Manger.
Craig Kreeger, CEO of Virgin Atlantic, said of Walker’s appointment, “I am delighted to welcome Andrew to this new and important position at Virgin Atlantic. Andrew’s appointment as the director of service delivery is a key role at the airline and his focus on customer experience and his passion for constantly improving operational standards will be a great asset for Virgin Atlantic.”
Walker added, “I am really looking forward to my new role. The airline industry has always fascinated me and it is clearly a much more complex business which I am really looking forward to getting my teeth into.”
Walker spent 12 years at Pret A Manger, with his most recent role there being UK managing director. During his time at Pret, he was behind a number of innovative service and product initiatives leading to enhanced customer experiences, as well as improved revenue and margins. Before joining Pret, Andrew was with professional services firm Deloitte Touche, where he held a number of senior IT roles. Walker will report to Craig Kreeger, CEO.
