Oil industry exececutives will be pleased to see the latest SAS service: an all-business route between Stavanger, Norway and Houston, Texas. The route operates six days a week with connecting services between Aberdeen and London, and has been added to fulfil the wishes of the oil industry for better connections between Europe and Texas.
The new Scandinavian Airlines route will be operated by a business version of the Boeing 737-700 and will have the SAS long-haul business-class concept on board, with 44 angled lie-flat business seats, four cabin crew, personal tablet entertainment, a refreshed cabin, and a complete food and beverage offer.
SAS entered into a wet lease agreement with PrivatAir for the use of the Boeing 737-700, which is being repainted with the SAS livery.
On the ground, there will be VIP treatment for the 44 passengers, including business check- in, fast-track security, priority baggage and access to the business lounge in Houston.
