Premium travellers with Emirates can again enjoy the luxuries of the A380 Onboard Lounge and Shower Spa, following the introduction of additional Covid-19 health and safety measures.
The lounge is available to first and business class customers, but its service offer has been reduced, having been transformed into a take-away bar with limited seating capacity and social distancing protocols in place. The bar continues to serve wines, spirits, soft drinks and pre-packaged lounge snacks for customers to take and enjoy in their own seats. If they prefer not to visit the lounge, customers can place their orders from their seats if they prefer.
For travellers not on board Emirates’ A380s, the social areas in business class on select Boeing 777 aircraft and in first class have also re-opened, offering pre-packed snacks for customers to grab and go.
First-class customers can once again enjoy the amazing experience of having a shower at 40,000ft. Each customer will receive luxury spa products in individual amenity bags containing pampering essentials from award-winning, organic and sustainable Irish brand VOYA, a disposable bath towel, and a menu of additional amenities to choose from.
From 1 November, Emirates’ onboard dining experience will return to its signature inflight service while observing strict hygiene protocols. Customers in all classes will enjoy multi-course meals and choose from a selection of complimentary beverages including wine and beer, as well as juices and soft drinks. Cocktails will also be served in premium classes.
In economy class, customers can choose from two wines; in business class, customers can choose from six wines including port and champagne, while in first class, customers will have a selection of 11 wines including a dessert wine, port and Dom Perignon champagne.
The Emirates app has also been updated to allow customers on board to browse the menus on their personal devices both online and offline.
As another beverage option, Emirates will soon launch Vitality Boost, a welcome drink for first and business class travellers. The airline’s chefs and nutritionists have blended apple, ginger and hibiscus to create a vegan, nutrient-rich drink packed with antioxidants, and free from gluten and added sugar. The health drink will be a staple on board and continually refreshed to offer different flavours. Customers can also choose from a range of welcome drinks including champagne and other juices.
Other hygiene elements recently introduced by Emirates include complimentary hygiene kits containing masks, gloves, hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes for all customers. To give customers greater travel confidence, Emirates has also committed to cover Covid-19 related medical expenses, free of cost, should they be diagnosed with the virus during their travels. This cover is immediately effective for customers flying on Emirates until 31 December 2020, and is valid for 31 days from the moment they fly the first sector of their journey.
