Emirates has entered into a partnership with GE Digital Aviation Software and TE Food to test a mobile app that allows passengers to perform PCR tests for Covid-19 prior to travel, at discounted rates. Developed by GE Digital Aviation Software and TE Food, the TrustOne app helps passengers comply with the latest regulations and protocols and is intended to help Emirates facilitate international travel requirements during the pandemic.
Customers who have a reservation on an Emirates flight can access the app to receive special rates for PCR screening at one of Eurofins’ laboratories. Travellers can also obtain all relevant information in one place, including locating the most convenient laboratory site and booking appointments and test results, with only minimal personal data required to be entered into the app.
Emirates will launch the app on a trial basis, with the first phase starting in the United Arab Emirates, France, the United Kingdom, Spain and the Netherlands. Emirates customers travelling from the UAE are offered a special fare of AED 130 if they undertake PCR testing in the application-certified laboratories. Customers travelling from other countries also receive competitive rates ranging from 70 to 90 Euros (AED 310 to AED 400), depending on which country they are travelling from.
In the first trial phase, customers need to print PCR certificates in accordance with current requirements of the destination they are travelling to. In the second trial phase, which is expected to begin in a few months, the list of app-based markets will expand, allowing customers to use it to validate test results when checking in at airports.
The TrustOne app is available for download on devices running iOS or Android.
