Recaro Aircraft Seating has gained a major new Supplier Furnished Equipment (SFE) opportunity, through a deal with Embraer. Embraer has given Recaro the green light to develop an SFE catalogue of seats for the E1 and E2 E-Jet narrowbody aircraft types. The catalogue will include Recaro’s bestselling BL3710 and SL3710 economy-class seats, optimised for short- and mid-range flights, and will be available for linefit and retrofit configurations.
Recaro says the development of the SFE catalogue will begin in Q3 2023, with seats becoming eligible for orders in mid-2024. A benefit for airlines and lessors with short lead times is that the catalogue will include pre-certified seats that enable a quick turnaround time.
The BL3710 will be offered with a variety of optional features, including an in-seat power supply system (ISPSS), tablet holder, six-way headrest and a maximum 5-inch recline. The SL3710 weighs 8kg per PAX and will feature options for ISPSS and two backrest angles. Customisation options will include a range of plastic and dress cover colours.
“Joining forces with Recaro Aircraft Seating means Embraer can offer more alternatives to our customers, making our products even more attractive,” said Roberto Chaves, chief procurement officer at Embraer. “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience and delivering unparalleled value to our clients. The Recaro seats add another dimension to our interiors, more choice and less weight for our customers, and more comfort and amenities for their passengers.”
