July 9, 2016 – Alongside Recaro Aircraft Seating’s celebration of its 10th year of operations, the company also held its eighth Global Supplier Conference, with over 150 participants joining from around the world.
“For many years, together with our suppliers, we have been implementing our Lean Strategy, which has made a significant contribution to our company’s success,” stated Dr Mark Hiller, CEO and shareholder at Recaro Aircraft Seating. “This not only enables us to improve our value chain, but also to develop state-of-the-art, long-term relationships with our suppliers, which ensure a high degree of adaptability and quality.”
In particular, Recaro strives for reduced delivery times, ongoing improvement of costs management, and consistently high quality in parts manufacturing and materials sourcing from its partners.
“With a global Recaro network of our own production sites and with our very positive supplier relationships, we are currently achieving an outstanding level of cost-effectiveness in Swiebodzin [the name of the company’s site in Poland] – one that meets our high expectations and guarantees production security,” said Joachim Ley, executive vice president for supply chain at Recaro Aircraft Seating.
The conference also saw Recaro Aircraft Seating honor four companies with Recaro Supplier Awards. The Reinhard Bretthauer company, as a specialist in plastics engineering, was given the Production Material award for its outstanding performance in the areas of production, quality assurance and delivery times. The Panorama Catering company received a Non-Production Material award for its consistently positive performance and high standards as long-term Recaro catering partner.
In addition, Shenzhen Jinming Aerospace Technology received a Supplier Award for its 100% on-time delivery, as did Alu Menziken Euromotive, for its capacity expansion and “exemplary collaboration” with Recaro.
“We can only successfully implement our growth strategy for the next years and meet the high demand for our products worldwide with a lean company, optimized processes and short production cycles. We are all the more delighted to have our four top suppliers as partners who are ideally positioned to meet these evolving requirements – in view of our successfully taking on future challenges together,” stated Dr Hiller.
