Qatar Airways has opted to fit the brand-new CL3810 economy class seat from Recaro Aircraft Seating (Recaro) on its upcoming A321neo fleet. According to the contract, 20 shipsets of the CL3810 will be installed on the aircraft, with deliveries beginning at the end of 2022.
Qatar Airways is one of the first airlines to sign up for the CL3810, which was launched on the market in 2020 as a successor to the CL3710. The airline opted for seat features including a wider backrest and a six-way headrest with adjustable neck support.
Standard comfort features of the CL3810 include premium comfort cushions with layered foam, a unique shape designed to support passengers’ points of tension (derived from Recaro’s automotive seating division). Recaro says that, compared to the CL3710. The CL3810 offers an additional 1in of living space, a more advanced articulated seat pan, a wider backrest to enhance row-to-row privacy, and 15% less weight.
“We are pleased to be one of the first global airlines to select the CL3810 economy class seat – Recaro’s latest, sustainable and advanced seating product,” said His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group’s chief executive. “Established nearly two decades ago, our long-term partnership with Recaro Aircraft Seating reflects our confidence in the supplier’s exemplified designs and technology.”
