July 11, 2016 – The opening day of Farnborough Airshow saw the launch of Causeway Aero, a collaboration that brings together several Northern Irish aerospace companies – BASE, Denroy Plastics, Moyola Precision Engineering, Dontaur Precision Engineering and Hutchinson Aerotech – under one brand to offer a full design and manufacturing service. According to Causeway Aero, the alliance is to benefit from funding from Invest Northern Ireland’s Collaborative Network program, a research and development grant, to work with Swiss interiors business, SR Technics, as well as technical assistance and consultancy support.
Representing Causeway Aero, Denroy Group Chairman, John Rainey, explained one of the first projects for the group: “As a result of a National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP) R&D grant offered by Invest Northern Ireland [reported to be over GB£95,000], we are working to deliver new aircraft galley technology to one of Europe’s leading aerospace interior companies.”
