The latest evolution of Mirus Aircraft Seating’s Hawk economy-class seat, the Hawk Infinity, has officially entered the Airbus Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) catalogue as a Potential Future Product for airlines ordering Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
Featuring in the BFE catalogue enables airlines and lessors to select the Hawk Infinity seat and have the required number installed at the Airbus Final Assembly Line through the regular BFE Management process. And indeed customers have already ordered the seat, with the first two customers (as-yet unnamed) due to have the seats installed in their ordered A321Neos in Q1 2025.
Fully certified and launched in 2023, Hawk Infinity is a lightweight economy-class seat designed for airlines operating single-aisle aircraft on short- to medium-range routes. Mirus claims the Hawk Infinity offers close to a 500kg weight saving on a typical Airbus A321 in comparison to the preceding model.
Mirus, a UK-based seating manufacturer, has been an approved Airbus supplier since 2019 with its flagship product, the Hawk, having been in service with airlines since 2018 on Airbus A320, Boeing 737 and Boeing 767 aircraft, both as linefit and retrofit.
