Recaro Aircraft Seating has been selected by KLM Cityhopper, the regional subsidiary of KLM, to outfit 21 Embraer 195-E2 aircraft the airline recently ordered, with deliveries due to begin in Q1 2021. Each aircraft will have a hybrid layout of Recaro BL3710 and SL3710 seats.
The 195-E2 will be the largest aircraft in KLM Cityhopper’s fleet, and will feature a 132-seat cabin layout, with the lightweight (8kg) SL3710 as the main cabin option, and the BL3710 offering greater comfort for a higher fare.
Dr Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating stated that he is eager to expand the company’s business into the regional aviation sector, with the KLM partnership being a key part of this strategy, as it is a significant key player in Europe and a long-term Recaro customer.
