Spain’s flag carrier, Iberia, has become notable for its series of ‘firsts’ related to the A350. In 2018 Iberia became the first airline to fly a A350 with a new production standard (NPS), and the airline did it again when it became the first airline to fly the 2022 NPS, which includes cabin and operational efficiency improvements. The latest development is that an Iberia A350 is the launch platform for Recaro’s CL6720 business-class seat, a model first revealed in 2020.
The A350 business class cabin has been fitted with 31 CL6720 seats, each having sliding doors for extra privacy, a 79in-long fully flat bed, and direct aisle access. The centre double seats are in a honeymoon layout with electronically operated full-length privacy dividers.
The forward seats in the business-class cabin and the front-row monuments have been optimised to complement each other, with both elements having been developed and produced in-house by Recaro.
Recaro is also equipping Iberia’s A350 premium economy and economy cabins with seating – the PL3530 and the CL3710 models, respectively.
