Eltra Services Beijing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus which provides repair and technical support services to airlines in China and the Asia-Pacific region, has signed an aircraft parts build agreement with Jiatai Aircraft Equipment, a China-based seating supplier which is a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). Under the terms of the agreement, Jiatai will focus on parts manufacturing & assembly and on-time delivery, while Eltra will provide specification and technical support.
This follows an agreement made in 2022 by which Eltra, together with two other Airbus subsidiaries (Satair and KID-Systeme) will cooperate with Jiatai in the cabin seat industry. This cooperation broadened the scope of Eltra’s business.
Miao Yan, general manager of Eltra, sees this latest cooperation as a new use of synergies to further improve the solutions portfolio for customers. He said: “Eltra has been focusing on providing quick, convenient and high-quality repair and technical support services to airlines. The cooperation with Jiatai will benefit customers with more localised solutions.”
He Caifu, general manager of Jiatai added, “The cooperation leverages the strengths of both companies: Jiatai’s manufacturing capability and Eltra’s expertise in repair, maintenance and services. Joining forces will drive excellent services and products for China and Asia-Pacific customers, with reduced costs and lead time.”
