January 22, 2016 – Chameleon Products has launched two new products: Famoskin and Famocoat. Famocoat is a material coating that has passed all burn tests, including heat release (with a mean of 13.6 and peak of 36.9), and is supplied on a roll that can be applied to monuments and other cabin elements.
Famoskin is a very soft manufactured material that feels like lambskin leather and is available in 13 colors. The material has been tested and has passed vertical burn, smoke and toxic gas emission tests to ABD0031 and D6-51377.
“We believe these products, if combined with our Famotex foam replacement product, could actually be used to produce aircraft seats where the soft furnishings all comply with the overall burn requirement tests applied across the aircraft. We have also laminated Famotex with leather and other products, which produces a wonderful cushioned product with many applications, stated Trevor Whetter, CEO of Chameleon Products. “Famoskin whist very soft is durable and has been tested to 120,000 cycles on abrasion resistance, yet feels as smooth as skin.”
