Airbus has extended its contract with Recaro Aircraft Seating for the delivery of Swift economy class seats. Swift is a predefined BL3530 economy class seat, which Recaro has been supplying for Airbus A320 Family aircraft since 2016. This contract extension aims to enlarge the supplier furnished equipment (SFE) catalogue with the latest Recaro seating products.
The Swift programme was created to target lessors and airlines that require seating to be supplied with a short lead-time of four months or less via a SFE process. The last-minute flexibility has proved a popular solution for airlines in a post-pandemic environment, according to Recaro.
Recaro offers predefined and pre-certified versions of its BL3530, BL3710, and CL4710, and provides various dual-class cabin configurations of the Swift family of seats. Optional seat features range from comfort packages and in-seat power, to tablet holders and predefined ELeather colours. The SL3710 is claimed by Recaro to be the lightest seat on the market, and is slated to join the Airbus SFE catalogue soon.
“The industry is an ever-changing situation, and programmes like this demonstrate our agile capabilities and the desire to collaborate with customers and suppliers on innovation,” said Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating.
