May 19, 2017 – Acro Aircraft Seating has announced that following the completion of a ‘Series 3 Superlight ST’ slimline economy class seat development program for Allegiant Air, shipset deliveries for line-fit in Hamburg have begun. The contract is to equip 12 Airbus A320 200s with the seat, 10 of which are scheduled for delivery during 2017 and the remaining two in 2018. Since 2013, Acro has retrofitted over 40 A319s/A320s for Allegiant Air, with a further four on order for 2017.
This announcement follows an agreement made with Airbus during January 2017, whereby Acro products are to be included in the BFE (buyer furnished equipment) catalog, including the ‘Series 3 Superlight ST’, with the new Series 6 to follow, pending delivery of the first shipset during Q3 2017.
Alan McInnes, SVP of sales at Acro, said “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Allegiant Air. We have worked hard to grow Acro by investing in our staff, product innovation and supporting infrastructure. This is also our second line-fit program for a US customer. Our established offices in Miami and Kuala Lumpur enable us to be closer to our customers, address growth demand in North America and Asia, and help us pursue our vision of perfect comfort for passengers.”
