A sneak peek inside the new aircraft interior design for Aeromexico’s fleet of Boeing 787-9s. The cabins have been designed by New Territory, with a focus on passenger wellbeing, particularly with regard to onboard social spaces

Designed to be a welcoming kitchen-style environment, the social space is seamlessly integrated into the broader architecture of the aircraft

The lighting adds to the appeal of the inflight catering

Passengers will feel relaxed enough to help themselves to drinks and refreshments, choosing if and how they interact with fellow passengers

The lighting features have clean, organic forms

The whole social area is contained by a ‘skylight’, a large panel of overhead, flat light that imbues the space with a warm aesthetic

The cornicing is almost residential in style

The design team used white light throughout the whole cabin because they consider it to feel the most natural. It also makes items such as water bottles look healthy and appealing

The faceted design encourages the natural flow of people through the space with its clean, unbroken lines and shifting perspectives that reveal different parts and sections of the bar as you walk through it
