Singapore Airlines has announced that it plans to invest US$325 million on retrofit upgrades to 19 of its Boeing 777-300ERs. The programme will see the latest generation of cabin products installed, providing consistency with the airline’s new fleet B777 interiors launched in September 2013. Installation work is expected to begin early in 2015, with all aircraft completed by September 2016.
“Feedback about our next-generation cabin products has been extremely positive and our customers have been asking for them to be fitted on more aircraft. We have listened,” said the airline’s executive vice president, commercial, Mr Mak Swee Wah. “This significant investment demonstrates our commitment to constantly enhancing our products and services, and further demonstrates our confidence in the future for premium full-service air travel.”
The new three-class cabin products were introduced after more than two years of development with world-renowned design firms, including BMW Group DesignworksUSA and JPA Design.
