With not long to go before the doors open (October 14-16), the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) Americas and co-located Aircraft Interiors Expo Americas have announced the launch of CabinSpace Live – being billed as a theater where the industry elite will share their expertise and knowledge.
Taking place on days two and three of WTCE Americas, CabinSpace Live will act as a hub at the show where the industry can come together to uncover key issues and trends related to the onboard experience. During presentations, visitors will hear from business leaders and gain inspiration on how they can take the onboard experience to the next level. CabinSpace Live offers an overview of the complete onboard experience, and included in this are dedicated sessions on onboard hospitality.
For example, the trend towards eating authentic cuisine has really taken off both in the home and on the restarant scene as consumers become more concerned with what makes up the food they eat. This trend has led to them being increasingly less willing to compromise onboard. Sky Cuisine’s founder, Marc Lopez will take the floor in two engaging sessions on the benefits of using local produce. In his first sesison he’ll explore the future of the dairy industry, the constantly fluctuating meat market and the ‘sweet and chocolate plus’ effect. His second session takes a look at the importance of bread quality and bread ratio in the sandwich world, nutrition and local produce in pasta dishes, as well as why it’s important to use premium products in the baking industry.
Stathis Kefallonitis, PhD, from consultancy branding.aero will also share his experince in enhancing the passenger experience though onboard product features including everything from catering, food and beverage choice, and amenities. He believes simple techniques can be used to create a meaningful onboard culture combining functionality and feeling so that operators can delight their passengers.
Other topics include innovative in-flight entertainment systems and lightweighting cabin interiors. A networking lunch hosted by Sky Cuisine will be on offer both days, where visitors can come together and sample onboard delights, as well as discuss best practice with each other.
Archana Sharma, WTCE Americas Event Manager commented: “It’s essential that air, rail and cruise operators continue to evolve their onboard offering. We are launching CabinSpace Live to provide them with exclusive insights into best practice from around the industry. Our aim is to bring together professionals so that they can meet with each other, network and discuss ideas that will help them cater for today’s passenger. We’re also excited to announce we’ll be launching CabinSpace online, which is the industry information exchange for aircraft, railway and cruise cabins. Building a community to provide one space where you can learn and inspire by sharing views and knoledge, hear what the industry expects have to say, comment and review posts and blogs whilst viewing the latest news articles.”
At WTCE Americas, visitors can also take advantage of insider information by attending the Passenger Experience Conference, which takes place on 14th October 2014. Here, representatives from companies including Alaska Airlines, JetBlue Airlines, VIA Rail Canada, and the Four Seasons Hotel will share their knowledge and expertise in delivering sevice excellence.
