Boeing partnered with the US Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to create a tool used to build the folding wing tip for the B777X. The wing trim and drill tool is the world’s largest solid 3D printed item, as certified by Guinness World Records, and is used to secure the composite wing skin for drilling and machining
