October 1, 2015 – Icelandair has decided to add two Boeing 767-300s to its fleet from spring 2016, in which the airline will install seats from Aviointeriors: the Andromeda seat in business class and the Columbus Three model in economy.
“The Andromeda seat model choice confirms its high level of comfort and reliability for medium-to-long range flights, and Columbus Three is having great success due to its combination of lightweight and modularity,” stated Pietro Rizzo, SVP of sales and marketing at Aviointeriors.
Delivery of the first seat shipset is scheduled for March 2016.
Icelandair has also ordered CTT’s Zonal Drying System for 14 Boeing 757-200s and two Boeing 767-300s, with options for an additional 16 Boeing MAX 8/9 aircraft. The retrofit installation will start with the first B757-200 in December 2015.
By removing cabin condensation, the Zonal Drying system is claimed to reduce excess weight and reduce the risk of moisture-related faults in electrical equipment.
